Design in Italy in Project Groups

“Design in Italy in project groups from 1960 to 1990” is a historical and analytical research that presents a study of the experiences of Italian design groups from the 1960s onwards. The aim is to analyse the developments and the importance they have had in the context of national and international design. Through the consultation of primary sources, this volume describes an unprecedented overview of a phenomenon that has still not been entirely historicized, tracing the outlines and investigating the connections between groups of designers, places, trends, and theoretical frameworks.

Threaded Ed.20, New Beginnings Issue

This issue celebrates Matariki, new beginnings and acknowledges influences and learnings; past, present and future. This edition’s intention is to increase awareness of contemporary Māori Art and Design but more importantly connect communities and industries locally and globally. This issue is a collaboration and co-edition with Ngā Aho featuring 10 of New Zealand’s most contemporary Māori artists and designers; Carin Wilson, Lisa Reihana, Rangi Kipa, Jack Gray, Elisapeta Hinemoa Heta, Lonnie Hutchinson, Natalie Robertson, Janet Lilo, Jessica Sanderson and Martin Awa Clarke Langdon.

Polypictures

The Polypictures project was inspired by the drawings of Anton's sister. It's a series of minimalistic and quirky drawings that reflect his love to children's creativity. The drawings achieve maximum effect in artistic quality of illustration by using simple shapes and colors. Some of the pictures from this project become tattoos for different people.

Art and Culture Center of National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences has the mission of popularization of aesthetic education.1983ASIA explores local cultural symbol of Taiwan in view of art, extracted the traditional culture characteristics and stories from Taiwan’s local culture, transformed them into the flat visual language, and changed the art and culture center into a culture platform carrying dreams and stories.

Royal North Shore Hospital Sydney

Solving the Royal North Shore Hospital's wayfinding was not just about designing ‘better’ signs. Legibility, colour and graphics may be the necessary physical tools for a sign but it was the comprehension of their meaning that was important and how this was organised into a cognitive pattern of sign types. Clarity and directness of the wayfinding system is enhanced and enlivened by the use of colour utilised at each lift core as a wayfinding tool to correspond with vertical circulation. Visitors felt comfortable in their spatial environment, and were easily oriented and logically informed.
